Good food for the bees:

Sweet Clover get 5-6" high

White Dutch Clover get 6" high

Plant in the fall one month before frost, around October.

They both bloom in May, June and July.

50 pounds will plant about 2 acres.

Can get Sweet Dutch seed from Turner Seed Company, Breckenridge, Texas.

One acre can feed about 1 or 2 hives.

Can fence in your yard and put Vitex plants and Popcorn trees around the fence,

and plant clover inside the fence.

Can get buckwheat seed from farm store in Slocomb, Alabama.

Goldenrod flowers produces darker and stronger honey.

To store frames and supers in the winter, put in black bag with moth balls or

crystals on paper plate and tie tightly. Can put moth crystals on plywood and put

on top and bottom of frames. Be sure to air out one week before you use.

Mr. OJ's top bar hives are under a shed, and he has glass in the back of his hive so

you can see the bees.
